Oldroyd Xs - Description

Oldroyd Xs is a tough, damp-proofing membrane that can be laid on top of damp concrete floors or newly laid floorslabs in above and below ground applications. It is also used on polluted areas such as old industry floors. A wide choice of flooring types can then be laid on the membrane, for example, screeds, particle board, laminated wooden flooring and sportfloors. Insulation can also be used in conjunction with the system where required, and it is suitable for use over under floor heating systems with a flooring surface laid on top.
The membrane is also used as a radon and gas barrier.
Oldroyd Xs is manufactured from polypropylene and is much thicker than conventional damp-proofing membranes. This makes it extremely strong and resistant to damage and chemicals, and has the added benefit of being a very "quiet" material to work without internal stresses. The patented ”X“ pattern embossed into the membrane makes it easy to cut and fold around complex constructional details, and allows for shrinkage and movement when screeds and concrete are used as a floor surface. It also allows moisture to move between the membrane and the underlayer surface.
The Multi-Layer Technology of Oldroyd Xs results in a membrane with greater strength than normal studded membranes, and allows the use of recycled material in the centre layer. It is made from polypropylene making it a very quiet material to work with - a benefit in large scale applications.
Multi-Layer TechnologyTM
Oldroyd membranes now feature Multi-Layer TechnologyTM. This provides a stronger sandwich construction allowing recycled material to be incorporated within the centre layer. This is of benefit both to the product and the enviroment.
